The COVID vaccines save lives and Fox News appears to want its viewers to die

Fox News is calling the variant booster propaganda and trying to dissuade its senior viewers from getting boosted.
This is the message that Fox News is sending to its viewers
A potential fall COVID surge is coming, and Fox News is trying to sicken and kill its viewers.
Fox has done this before, and the point is to shift the blame for COVID deaths from Trump to President Biden. Fox News is so cynical and politically motivated that they would risk the lives of their older viewers for the larger political goal of damaging Biden and the Democrats while helping Trump and the Republicans.
It doesnt have to be this way, but no other form of media has done more to politicize the pandemic than Fox News.

Fox is just trying to shift it's viewing audience to a younger demographic.
. . . by trying to kill off the oldies.

(10,907 posts)2. Just 5.5% of those eligible have gotten this booster

In Europe, the 7 day moving average of new cases are up 67% in the past 30 days
https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2021/world/covid-cases.html
France, Germany, and Italy, just to pick some of the larger population European countries, have several times the new case rates of the U.S., and all 3 are strongly rising.
OK, I left out the U.K. -- its rate is about the same as the U.S., but their's is rising (the U.S. is still falling)
New COVID boosters off to a slower start than previous flu vaccine campaigns, CBS News, 10/7/22
As of Thursday, federal data tallies more than 11.5 million doses of the new bivalent COVID-19 vaccine boosters from Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech in arms across the country.
That represents around 5.5% of the 209 million Americans who were eligible for the updated boosters when they were greenlighted a month ago.
. . . All vaccinated Americans age 12 and older are recommended by the CDC to get the bivalent boosters, at least two months after their last shot. The CDC says people who were recently infected can wait three months after they tested positive before getting the shot.
. . . Federal health officials had previously cited modeling from the Commonwealth Fund suggesting 101,858 COVID-19 deaths could be averted this winter, if updated boosters reached levels similar to the annual flu shot.

(1,178 posts)4. While it might be a delightful idea to ponder ...
it's likely to have only a marginal effect on elections in the near term. We need to vote, in numbers too large for them to steal.
