A Ray Township veterinarian is under investigation after a video circulated where he appears to beat, choke and slam his dog into the ground, Macomb County officials said at a Wednesday news conference.

The video was filmed by a child in the house, who later posted it to YouTube, said Macomb County Executive Mark Hackel. The video, titled "my dad uncut lmfao (action-drama-comedy film)," has been removed.

The "incredibly graphic" footage shows the veterinarian has a "high-intensity" temperament, Hackel said, and the sheriff's department is looking into other forms of abuse in the household.

The veterinarian's three dogs have been taken out of the home and are being cared for in a county animal shelter, Hackel said.

Many years ago, I worked for a small animal vet as a tech. After seeing how he handled some situations, I asked him--why did you become a vet? He said, "Because I couldn't get into med school." If people had known what he did to their pets in the back room..... But he was semi-good looking, and very charming.

I finally quit when I saw him euthanize a dog for someone, and then while it was still breathing, he threw it in the freezer. I tried several times to report him, and got nowhere. These days, I would have camped on some official's doorstep.

Last I saw, he had expanded with a second clinic.

clients leave him. Though there is such a shortage of vets, some might have no choice but to use him. If so, I’d insist on being in the room while he treated my loved ones.
