Why do I have to pay socialist corporate welfare for private shipping companies.
How about they pay their own way?

The federal government (that would be you) pays 100 percent of the cost of the locks and dams that are part of the inland waterways system (shippers do pay into the IWW Trust Fund but they pass those costs on to you). The federal government also pays 100 percent of the cost to maintain the system. The system is far and away the cheapest, and most of the time reliable, mode of transporting goods available. Additionally, there are national defense considerations.

The rights screams about socialism but they love this form of socialism.
If the right wins the house they have promised to work on cutting SS and Medicare.
Funny I don't hear one peep about cutting socialist corporate welfare!

No need to lurk you are welcome here.
