I don't consider her the face and voice of US liberalism.

Hartman is right and the historical perspective is a good one but the main reason we can't negotiate with Putin is that he has proven himself to be a complete liar who tells people what they want to hear and does the opposite. That makes him incapable of negotiating in good faith or respecting any decision by a delegate. He won't stop until his partially destroyed military stops him.

Ukraine is right, their only option is kicking Russian asses back over their border. Letting them occupy any territory at all means they'll be back trying to conquer the rest.
