Democrats On Defense In An Unlikely New Battleground - NBC News

The governor’s race between Democratic incumbent Kathy Hochul and Republican challenger Lee Zeldin has tightened. First lady Jill Biden campaigned for Hochul on Sunday IN NY, days after the president traveled there, while Florida’s Republican governor Ron DeSantis rallied for Congressman Zeldin on Saturday. Democrats are also under pressure to maintain governor’s spots in two traditionally blue states: Oregon and New Mexico. Democrats are eyeing Oklahoma as a possible gubernatorial pickup as that race becomes newly competitive.

And yet in Texas where Beto is tightening the race against Abbott, crickets?

New Mexico Governor recent poll numbers are solid, 50% - 42% Oregon is tied.

He's a far right Rep. from New York-1, as far away from New York-21 as you can get. Do those with the signs know who he is and what his positions are? I had no clue and I'm paying attention. I wouldn't bet that they know who DeSantis is - also from as far from New York as you can get.

tons of yard signs don't quite determine outcome one way or another. Also, like books, RWers buy in bulks to assume "best seller" status. That's the way I see yard signs.

Just my opinion tho.

All I can think is that the signs came two-for-one. There's a storefront on one of the main streets here that is full of Republican signs. I have two signs - one for the Democrat running for Congress and the other for the Democratic candidate for State Senate, and that's only because I know the State Senate candidate personally... though I'm gratified to see signs for her all over.

But I am hoping that he can't get enough rural and small town votes to beat out larger cities like NYC, Buffalo, Rochester, and some of the smaller Dem cities.
