1. Sinking a Ukranian grain ship would have blown back on Russia 1,000-fold.

The only threat to Ukranian grain shipments is Russia, so Putin's demand for "security guarantees" was totally meaningless except as cover for an attack by Russia on the shipments. Since the UN and Turkey continued to ship the grain in spite of Putin's threats, the threat was empt, leaving egg on Putin's face.
