MSNBC Removes Popular Host Tiffany Cross - TYT

"MSNBC has dropped Tiffany Cross’s weekend show after a nearly two-year run.

The network chose not to renew her contract and will fill her timeslot with a series of rotating hosts in the interim, according to a source familiar with the plans. Variety first reported on the network’s decision.

Cross’ Cross Connection launched in 2020, as part of a series of changes to MSNBC’s weekend lineup that also included a new show featuring Jonathan Capehart.

Cross’s staff was informed of the decision on Friday morning, the source said, but will remain in place." - 11/04/2022.

The only thing that's ever bothered me about her is her voice, but that's something I studied, doubt much of anyone else noticed and she wouldn't require much work compared to some others that really bother me. So I was surprised to read this and decided to post this so those who tuned in would know what's going on. And I do take your point, but I've actually posted some of her segments here when she's covered political news.

Than most of the hosts on cable. I know he disagrees with most of the PTB, but that is what makes him so good. He tells the truth. Cable insists on a breathless horse race.

I did not care for Tiffany, but on the other hand I love Jonathon Capehart. Tiffany was a one trick pony, always the same subject. Many of my friends felt the same.

Ali Velshi is my favorite, Alex Wagner is great! She gives hard hitting news with a pleasant personality.

I am unhappy they took Brianna off the morning show, big mistake. Filling in for Jake Tapper is an insult.

And I admit that I watch Jonathan Capehart more often than Tiffany Cross - he is more political. As for Ali Velshi, he's my favorite, too - he can report on any subject from anywhere at any time. And he's the one who can step in and effectively substitute for any of the other hosts. Both Velshi and Alex Wagner are among the videos I post most often here.

I like Nicolle Wallace a lot, too - and she often gets breaking news during her show. My other favorite is Lawrence O'Donnell - he has the experience to weigh in on anything and attracts the best guests!

Was almost afraid to post how I felt because of you.

Yes, I love Nicolle. To think she once worked for Jr. Bush. She tells the truth. So does Brianna. They could use a new hoses on MSNBC. MAYBE SHE COULD JUMP SHIP.

Ali left a very popular CNN show because he wanted to do investigative reporting on the Al Gore network, then Al sold to Aljazeera. I liked that station, but it was squeezed out. Ali then landed at MSNBC. They seem to let him do what he wants. That is what he does best!

I turned it off back in 2005 when they cut away from John Kerry speaking live before the Senate - to switch to a taped segment of some right winger, "for balance" they said. So I fired off a comment to CNN and changed to MSNBC for good. I still like Don Lemon, Anderson Cooper and Fredricka Whitfield, they were always reliable, though, as I said, it's been awhile.

And in the beginning I was not prepared to like Nicolle Wallace, since I knew her background - but she was especially friendly with Rachel Maddow, so I gave her chance - and now she's a favorite of mine. She's smart and has the experience. And she said she gave up on being a Republican when Sarah Palin was nominated for VP...

As for Ali Velshi, I agree that he's capable of handling anything. He can substitute for any other host, he spent those weeks reporting from the Ukraine border - and now he's visiting different states to report on how they're handling the election. Not to mention, he's also great on financial issues, had his show with Stephanie Ruhle for years. He's quite an asset and I think he deserves an award for his reports from Ukraine...

Joe/Mika/Andrea/Chuck could sell their depraved party buddy Trump to the public as a viable candidate with the promise he would "grow in office"...their hate for Hillary, and the Clintons in general, was out loud and palpable... I think Keith got his revenge..the cable shows are stale, the hosts are tiring, and their go-to guests have nothing to say, but Keith's podcast is raking in listeners and he spilling his guts on MSNBC's behind-the-scenes garbage..his opinions mirror mine even though I sometimes have to hit pause because his truths are painful as they should be

She says things many of us think. It may make some folks uncomfortable. Oh well. It’s their loss. I will find something else to do with my Saturday mornings.

This reminds me of Jemele Hill’s situation. I am disgusted. Apparently her criticism of Desantis and Florida was the bridge too far for MSNBC. It’s unbelievable that there would be people that are more concerned about her criticism than what is actually happening in Florida.

If MSNBC thinks they will be able to keep the viewership she brought, they are mistaken. I certainly will not watch whomever they replace her with.

And calling them out for the racists they are. MSNBC bosses have been asking her to tone down her criticism- In the midst of tucker Carlson and RW media attacking her.
It has been reported that MSNBC had been warning her about “ her language” on air and off air “that did not fit with their values“.

She appeared on Charmalaigne’s show last week. He asked all the guests, of the 4 states that have competitive races, which would they get rid of. Keep in mind, this is a show on Comedy Central, it’s not your typical political show. Her answer was Florida, and she went in on Desantis, talking about the awful things he is doing and called him a dick. She also defended MSNBC on that show, when another guest said MSNBC is not different from FOX.
Ironic, that she would defend MSNBC, but they would not defend her.

I cannot contain my disgust for MSNBC silencing the voice of a black woman, while Tucker Carlson, Joe Rogan continue to flood the air with bigotry and conspiracy theories.

I shouldn’t be surprised. This is repeated behavior by MSNBC, get rid of truth tellers.
I haven’t forgotten that they tried to kill the Harvey Weinstein story.

I’m sure people will continue to watch MSNBC. But they will lose some of those viewers she brought. The whole thing just stinks. She increased their viewership with women and minorities. Meanwhile Alex Wagner is bleeding viewers. Nothing against Alex. Just pointing out how this makes no sense.

Joy Reid doesn't pull any punches and there are a lot of black women (and men) as guests on MSNBC who are at least as outspoken as Tiffany Cross. It almost seems personal against Cross. The "line" she crossed that others haven't isn't clear to me at all. DeSantis is at least as bad as trump and perhaps worse. He deserves every name that we can throw at him. Calling him a dick is being generous. It makes me wonder if she was targeted by someone with a deluge of complaints.

Bigotry, hate , those who support it explicitly and those who support it tacitly is the problem?

Perhaps your friend should ask people trying to prop up white supremacy that question. The people calling it out are not the problem. A fight for equality is not a nice speech with glitter and rainbows. It continues to be an uncomfortable ugly fight.

I’ll repeat again, people said the same about MLK. Oh everyone loves him now. Never mind the pushback he got from “allies” and people who claimed to support the movement, but wanted him to tone it down. Glad he never listened to them.

You know, there are some anti trumpers that dislike trump, not because he is a hateful bigot. Because he brought too much attention to things they don’t mind.

While media like Fox News and Sinclair Broadcast Group are proudly and loudly pro fascist, sexist, and racist bastions of divisive misinformation, outlets like MSNBC strive for the polite middle ground for fear of being labeled liberal.

The result, then, is that when people like Tiffany Cross and Hillary Clinton push back against the Tucker Carlsons and Donald Trumps of the world, they are promptly labeled as divisive or too confrontational. Most infuriating is when even liberals and moderates then reward right-wing mud-slinging efforts by describing them as “too unpopular.”

Frankly, I’m surprised MSNBC didn’t cancel her show a year or so ago and find a “Chuck Todd” for the slot.

don’t ruffle too much feathers kind of person. It’s maddening that some are still concerned about being “civil”, when this is not politics as usual. It’s something MLK voiced frustration about, liberals that didn’t want him to make too much noise.
Tiffany made it a point to have more diverse voices amplified. From Native Americans to Afro Latinos and others.
Jimmy Kimmel recently said ABC wanted him to tone down his criticism of trump and the right. He threatened to walk and they backed down. Tiffany doesn’t have that kind of clout. I am glad she did not cave to the pressure to change. That tells you how principled she is.

Early on in the trump presidency, democrats were chastising other democrats for not being civil. Using “bad words”. Still happening today, while we are in peril of losing our democracy. It boggles my mind that some folks are so concerned about being “civil”.

must be terrified of a truth-teller extraordinaire. I've given up on state-directed MSM. It is slowly going the route of fascists demanding their hosts follow the brown-shirt playbook compliance to their authoritarian lies about race, gender equality and trans rights. And coming up, our fights against the RW when they go after human and voting rights. The vehicle of choice to overturn all rights we enjoy at this time as Americans is a terribly politicized SC. Hopefully, we can be able to put our fingers in the dike to prevent the upcoming 2nd coup attempt at making America totally fascist.

Tuesday is the day our bastion is shown to be holding back the waning tide of trump's BIG LIE. And the day I will show some serious fight. I truly want to believe in an overwhelming repudiation, by us, of totalitarian lies. And don't forget Social Security along with Medicare billions needed for Americans for healthcare and social well-being. Tuesday-Wednesday I can hope to breathe again-turn face forward-and unto the next immensely sizeable threat to our still democratic nation.

Dobb's was a true bellwether of RW's intentions for the US.
