(17,984 posts)The panel is giving Trump more time to turn over the documents. They are giving him plenty of time.
With putting his company under a monitor, that he has to pay for stops him from creating a new one to shield money.
Ironically, Don Jr. testifying that he knew nothing about accounting helped the case for a monitor.

(205,467 posts)As we have seen, he has no intention of complying and his excuses change by the day. How much longer is this circus going to go on? He's been given more leeway than anyone in history, but the criminal charges just keep adding up. Meanwhile, he's still out there, spewing his lies to yet another audience since those who followed his orders to storm the Capitol are facing charges or are already in jail. It's long past time that he joined them - since that seems to be the only way to put an end to his criminal behavior.

Trump is in so many law suits now I have an idea he is a quivering mass of blubber. I would not want to be one of his family members right now! Melania is no where to be seen! I bet she stays as far away as possible.

(205,467 posts)That's his way of dealing with all the charges he faces, constant delays. When is he going to run out of time?? Considering that he attempted to overthrow the government he says he wants to lead, that should have been more than enough to prevent him from running for anything ever again - and to shut down his traveling road show which is his excuse for getting "campaign contributions" from his gullible "followers.."

The only ones with a chance are state cases.

(6,831 posts)The only reason TFG is not behind bars right now is that indicting him threatens to expose the system of nearly absolute insulation from accountability enjoyed by every person of great wealth.
We're at that same old crossroads again. Supposedly we'd fixed it already, but nope. Kings were supposed to be anointed by God which made his word unquestionable? Serfdom to representation from the broader wealth of a kingdom was a fad for a while. (Though, to some, the concept of serfdom still has its appeal.) Even the current bout with one-man-one-vote is, alas, pretty vulnerable to greed and stuff. Tried a few shots of socialism, then communism and still no international cooperation. Next, Christo-fascism? Oh, that'll be great, I'm sure.
But all of these social contracts did fail/will fail because, with but a mere whimper, they fall prey to unacceptable levels of injustice. Even when there are engineered means of repair, the inertia is just too much. This is Merrick "whimper" Garland's destiny, defeated by his own understanding of the system but unable to appreciate and admit to its inadequacy. He has the "speak softly" part down pat, but would someone show him where they keep the "big stick"?

Time to strike will be in between (the legs).
