OP
Joe Biden has been calling for it if we have a majority - and he's one experienced former senator!

That's a great idea! You're right, we need some serious changes, starting next session.

To my feeble little brain filibuster reform won't help us all that much without the House.

Assuming Warnock wins the runoff

He wants to eliminate the filibuster and to codify Roe v Wade.

And they are super stubborn. Without them, you would need 50 votes. If Warnock wins, that is only 49

(8,335 posts)2. Maybe if they pass DC statehood as a reconciliation bill
Then reform the filibuster?

(206,072 posts)3. They've been hoping that for years! It's even on their license plates!
ColinC
(8,335 posts)8. I think that should be step one at this point.
Maybe start with firing the parliamentarian for one that would let reconciliation be used for statehood

(8,335 posts)9. And at least 15 leaning towards Dems
7 tossups i think

(206,072 posts)11. So we could still do it?
Now that would be historic - and long overdue. We need to get rid of the nut jobs, but unfortunately my extremist Rep. here in New York - a "blue" state - was just reelected.
