Related: About this forumIs the West Running out of Weapons for Ukraine? - TLDR News EU
Questions over whether the West could run out of weapons to send Ukraine have been asked since the war began, but how real a risk is it? Will Ukraine's demand eventually exceed the West's supply? And if it does happen, what can actually be done about it?

(16,248 posts)I hate war. I hate that little unstable men are able to invade and cause misery beyond my imagination. But when they do..fighting back is called for. Give Ukraine what the need. 🇺🇦

(26,403 posts)What they are running out of is old-style Soviet munitions to transfer from the old Warsaw Pact nations.
For many systems (armor, air assets, major rockets) the strategy has been to get old Warsaw pact nations to transfer their assets to Ukraine in exchange for modernizing with newer US (and UK, etc.) assets. So, the Western systems are actually in plentiful supply. But to introduce them would be a huge shock to Ukraine as they are not prepared logistically to support them. (new engines, barrels, etc.)
These old Soviet supplies are now growing sparse. I think the repairs done by Lithuania, etc. have become important. Just an opinion though. If the war continues much further, then we'll have to tackle the issue of transitioning Ukraine from Soviet to Western munitions.
