Staying angry at them forever will result in the 2016 results, not 2020.

Some thought they were voting for Reagan.
Some were young and impressionable.
Some thought they were "saving babies".
Some thought they were doing what Jesus must want.

All of the subjects broke through the dissonance when Trump moral and policy failings were exposed. They are by no means Democrats now, but they escaped the FOX and pulpit brainwashing long enough to see that they were lied to and manipulated.

I am hoping that they signal hope for an eventual return to rational policy differences rather than vitriol and bigotry.

...the right thing.

My personal opinion is of no consequence to them. These are, after all the "Fuck your feelings" crowd.

If they need my forgiveness to become decent human beings, the prognosis for them doing so is low.
