I’m interested in winning. When Katie Porter just squeaks by, when Raphael Warnock leads within the margin of error, when we are holding on by a thread in the face of possible loss of democracy even though the other side offers no solutions, ends Roe and is at least half crazy, yes I do want to learn.

I’ll read Lakoff again, will read Gene Sharp again, and will learn from any useful source. I live in a blue bubble but I help you folks including the candidates I mentioned above.

Laugh all you want. I wish you were right to feel so smug about the situation. Bon chance.

If you are talking about policy, then you are asking your audience to think about what you are saying. Republicans will always provide their voters with someone to hate and someone to fear. I don't think that it is a lot more complicated than that.

I guess the way that we fight that is give the people someone to love and respect and hope that that plays.

improve their lives. Use imagery and themes that are easily understood and appeal to voters.

At the same time, point out in strong, easy to understand terms the harm that Republican programs and agendas are doing to people and the country.

Messaging needs to be:
Vote for this because.........and don't vote for that because.......

In the video they talk about a swing in public opinion to thinking rs are for working people.

Stunning that could play but it does. Talk about a big lie.

that I worked with saying that she voted for Bush because he was for working and middle class people. I was so amazed that I wondered what planet she was on.

This change started with Raygun when he reached out to people who were dissatisfied with government programs that ensured racial equality. Many working and middle class whites were persuaded to believe that equality meant that they would lose out (lose privilege) in a racially equal society. Republicans pushed the idea that Dems had deserted their base in order to "cater" to women and race issues. That's why Raygun's line about government being the problem and not the solution appealed to middle and working class whites.

The Republican party perpetuated race and gender divisions in order to swing people to them.
