Related: About this forumRomney to protesters: ‘Take a hike’
While speaking in Ormond Beach, the candidate found himself being mic checked, a phrase Occupy Wall Street protesters often use at the beginning of their demonstration.
Corporations are not people! they shouted. We are the people! We are America!
Actually, these are the people, Romney yelled back, pointing to his supporters. These are the people; youre the interrupters!
We believe in the Constitution. We believe in the right to speech. And you believe in interrupting. Take a hike, he added.

(34,433 posts)No wonder the GOTP can't get behind this guy. His smarmy little Beavis and Butthead laugh really creeps me out. Actually, just looking at him creeps me out. That smirk, ugh.

(18,640 posts)In fact, it seems to be the underlying message at every Republican debate from all the candidates.
"If you're poor, don't vote for me, because I plan to cut welfare"
"If you're gay, don't vote for me, I don't believe you have rights"
"If you're in a union, don't vote for me, because I think you're overpaid"
"If you're Hispanic, you won't want to vote for me, because I'll see you as a second class citizen".
"If you're black, don't vote for me, because I think you're lazy".
"If you're old, don't vote for me, because I think Medicare is an 'entitlement' that needs replaced with your savings account".
How the hell do these Republicans have anyone left to vote for them? About all that's left anymore is a few Tea Party cranks.
