With the US and china rivalry intensifying in the latest the United States of America has warned Beijing on south china sea and has accused Beijing of intimidation of Philippine vessels. The US State department further warned that an attack on the Philippine security forces by china would trigger a US Response. We decode the repercussions of such statements and is there a new cold war in the offing?

(81,277 posts)Actually it has been going on for some time but the US didn't realize it.
Russia and China have been relentless in their psy-ops, covert ops to undermine the
US, interfere in our elections and recruit across the US government.

(7,839 posts)Well, China had that giant white weather balloon, provoked America into a frenzy for a week!
Yet a 21 year old American leaked much more than a single giant balloon ever could!
There were also totally innocent balloons were also destroyed in the bloodlust, or is it balloonlust? Remember that or prefer to forget
like the faked Iraq war?

Since you want to condemn the US for being in the South China Sea what do you think about China hanging out in the Indian Ocean? Now let's not be hypocritical because those Chinese vessels appear very provocative:

The reason why the US needed to step up its patrols of the Taiwan Strait and in the South China Sea are because of the provocative actions of China. There are three provocations that China needs to address if they want the US to reduce the current tensions:
a) China must respect the fishing rights and shipping lanes of other countries in the region.
b) China must allow leaders from other countries to communicate and interact with the business and political leaders of Taiwan without retaliation.
c) China must stop the military drills and incursions around Taiwan.
If China continues these provocations then tensions will remain high and American sentiment towards China will remain negative. Trying to deflect the blame towards the US is going to be ineffective considering not only these provocations but many others by China over a wide array of topics.
