There was some speculation that Putin might make an announcement in his address such as word about a mobilization, but other than than the normal propaganda blaming the US, NATO, and the West for all of Russia's problems the address was not remarkable.

of military academies rather than soldiers which might be indicative of the number of soldiers that are in the Ukraine conflict.

There was a ceremonial T-34 tank from the World War II era, but there were no other tanks, few military vehicles, and no aerial flyover. The Russian military has been decimated.

The real problem is that once their air and land forces are spent, it's all left to the nuclear forces.
Hopefully they are just as poorly maintained as everything else.
