Tough Guy Trump Chickens Out Of 'Confronting' His Accuser At Trial - Farron Balanced

Donald Trump rushed back to the United States late last week because he said he was going to "confront" his accuser. The judge overseeing the assault trial even made special arrangements by offering Trump the chance to testify at the trial, saying they would delay closing arguments so that he could come in. Trump, as usual, chickened out because he was afraid of what would happen if he showed up. Farron Cousins explains what happened.

Well, folks, today is the day that the jury is going to begin deliberations in the Eugene Carroll assault lawsuit that she has filed against Donald Trump. Now, had things gone the way that Donald Trump said they were gonna go today would actually be the day where both sides would be giving closing arguments. Because as we all know, last week, Donald Trump said he had to cut his trip to Ireland short so that he could come back and face his accuser so that he could confront her. Confront is the word that he used. And Judge Lewis Kaplan said, okay, you want to come back and testify? I'll give you till Sunday at 5:00 PM to file a motion saying you're gonna testify. We'll push everything back. You come in Monday morning and testify and we'll be good. Well, Sunday, 5:00 PM came and went. There was no filing from Donald Trump who swore he was going to confront Eugene Carroll Monday rolled around, no Donald Trump in the courtroom.

So they proceeded with their closing arguments. To put it another way, Donald Trump lied. He was not coming back to the United States to confront Eugene Carroll. He, in fact, chickened out of it like the coward that he is and didn't even show up to court. Hey, now, he had tweeted or posted on truth social that uh, he was walking into enemy territory over the weekend, which we all assumed meant New York City, cuz hey, some people thought he was gonna testify that he was actually gonna follow through on a statement that he made that he swore on international news. I'm gonna confront her. He had the opportunity, the judge was willing to totally revamp the trial calendar to let him come and testify as is his right.

Any chicken doubt that man is the biggest coward that we have ever had sitting in the White House, even though he is not in the White House anymore, thank God. But he is an absolute true to life coward. But in this instance, can you blame him? I mean, think about what happened towards the end of last week. They showed in court the deposition video of Donald Trump where he doubled down. He didn't try to excuse what he said on the Access Hollywood tape. He doubled down on it. He said, uh, quote, uh, let me find it here. My apologies. He said, historically, historically, they let it happen. Yeah. You know, historically that's true with stars, that you can sexually assault women and they'll just let you do it. That's what he said in the deposition video. So after that video played, of course,

It's no wonder that Donald Trump would not want to walk into that courtroom facing an anonymous jury that knows what he said in that deposition video. The same video by the way, where he couldn't tell the difference between Eugene Carroll in the nineties and his ex-wife Marla Maples. So yeah, I'd be afraid to walk into that situation too, if I were you. Luckily I'm not because I'm not a horrible piece of crap human being. But let this be a lesson, by the way, to every Trump supporter out there, the ones who post the images of Donald Trump is this chiseled, manly man. The ones who say that, oh, the left is intimidated by Donald Trump's manliness. Which actually, yes, there was conservative, uh, talker, Bridget Gabriel, who said that last week, why is the left intimidated by Donald Trump's Manliness? Manliness? The dude had two weeks to show up in this trial and confront his accuser again, which is his constitutional right to do.

And he couldn't do it cuz he was afraid. He was super scared that bad things were gonna happen to him. Well, guess what? Whether or not you show up doesn't matter because I think bad things are gonna happen. Your lawyer, Joe Taina, didn't present any witnesses. He didn't present any evidence. He did nothing. Immediately after the plaintiff's lawyers rested, he said, well, defense rest too. I guess I'm done.
