(6,795 posts)is probably exactly why the Espionage Act doesn't mention taking documents, only holding on to documents. Because there is a huge diffenence betrween what Trump** did, and that difference is not just in rhe quantity of the documents.
He also hung on to the documents, hid the documents from searchers, ignored subpoenas, and as can be proved by the photograph of the raid, copied documents.
Neither Pence nor Biden did any of those things. both, when they found they had documents, reported it immediately (and invited searches of their premises.)

(204,785 posts)Another reason for a "gag order" regarding this serious case since the liar-in-chief is still attempting to conflate the cases (as he did when he announced his indictments today!) - and it needs to be publicly announced (again) that no charges were filed against President Biden nor Mike Pence...

What she didn't say, is that the power of a POTUS to pardon his predecessor or anyone, should be abolished.
It just makes a mockery of the legal system.

And I agree with what you said about the pardon power being abolished and so does presidential historian Michael Beschloss. He also weighed in with Lawrence tonight and he said that he believes Gerald Ford's pardon of Nixon was a historic mistake.
