The Trouble with the Electoral College

I wonder was this a video that came out in 2000 when we got a president that most Americans didn't want.. Maybe they could get us all our money back for the wars we didn't want, the tax cut give away to the rich, and the drug coverage that the government isn't even allowed to negotiate for it.

Two states -- Maine and Nebraska -- split their electoral vote according to the popular vote. It's still not exactly proportional representation; the first two votes go to the candidate who gets the most votes in the state, and the rest get distributed proportionately. (At least that's how I think it works -- I'm a bit fuzzy.) I believe it's up to each state to decide how its electors get assigned.

Oh, and it wasn't the Electoral College that won Bush the 2000 election. If the votes had been counted fairly, Gore would have won even in the Electoral College.
