to a brand new industry and make a little money.

No sense in supporting the legalization of marijuana and not getting anything out of it. I certainly don't intend to smoke pot, but sounds like investment opportunities are near. Nice to see new industry in America. Especially one that will reduce costs dramatically in the corporate prison industry. The benefits are tremendous... And I'm certainly not opposed to making a little money if the opportunity presents itself.

I'll wait a bit though... don't want to invest in a short lived industry. Pesky federal law and all.

One has to examine the background and previous experiences of this "industry". As a drug, I understand it's effects. That aside from the past, I see it's potential for the future.

It does have medicinal purpose
It is an industry which produces nutritional base for food and fiber for industry. Hemp clothing and rope are just some things from the plant, which if grown in areas that are barren, can restore agriculture.

I don't think genetically modifying it would make it do better and I think it's the kind of crop that is difficult to corporatize, due to how easy it can grow in the "slow food movement".

Pesky federal law? Uh-uh... I think this is more visionary.

I can imagine that they would put high monetary requirements to get a "growers permit"...etc. IMO, marijuana and hemp could be the wave of the future but in our corporate controlled country "they" will very likely limit access to the already wealthy..bastards.

produce I grow and sell. From what I hear, it is fairly easy to grow depending on what type you are growing. There are many hybrids out there that have been developed for getting a buzz (ok, I'm older and not into the culture). But I wonder if there is a market for the original less potent plant for home remedies and teas?

Coming to a Farmer's Market near you?

Yes, corporate America has seen the writing on the wall for quite some time. And don't you know it will be the very same tobacco companies who have been putting additives in the tobacco to get everyone hooked; oh, and probably what's causing cancer.
