...so under deadline pressure they can come up with enough material that they can cherry-pick the good stuff and leave (most of) the crap far away from the audience.

Anything worth doing is worth doing poorly. At least at the beginning.

It reminds us that we owe kudos to the Daily Show writers.

His timing was the problem in this one....his timing now it perfect.

In the mtv thing, he is rushing the delivery. On Daily, he is at the desk, the 1/2 second delay between sentences works wonders.
