How can we feed the worldtoday and tomorrow?
The biggest players in the food industryfrom pesticide pushers to fertilizer makers to food processors and manufacturersspend billions of dollars every year not selling food, but selling the idea that we need their products to feed the world. But, do we really need industrial agriculture to feed the world? Can sustainably grown food deliver the quantity and quality we needtoday and in the future? Our first Food MythBusters movie takes on these questions in under seven minutes. So next time you hear them, you can too.

(86,840 posts)If I had the funding, I have a plan for sustainable community food production in food deserts around the world. But, what's holding me back is the funding for the startup.
Thanks for the video, everybody who eats food should know this and do something about it.

(18,998 posts)We must get away from the corporate model for our food.
I knew several chicken farmers...and any one can be one if you have the land...and sign a contract with Tyson's of some outfit like that...they will finance it for you....and they will keep you in debt for the rest of your life unless you want to lose your land to them too.
And they make you compete for your money....how many pounds of chicken you produce depends on how much you get for it.
One of the guys I know that got into it payed off his debt to them and they wanted him to upgrade his operation...when he refused the cut him off...and he used the chicken houses to store hay in....the others just became slaves to the company.
I say fuck corporate farms...don't buy that shit if you don't have to.
