Related: About this forumTV Christian: to AR-15-owning caller: your violent rage against Obama is patriotic
&feature=player_embedded
As a general rule, we tend not to write about the things said by those who call into the right-wing programs we monitor, as many of them tend to be isolated crackpots and the hosts themselves cannot really be held responsible for the things that callers say.
But we occasionally make exceptions for cases like this, where a caller tells AFA's Buster Wilson that he owns an AR-15 assault rifle, loathes President Obama and is absolutely fed up, warning that the government is turning him into a vigilante and that "when the bullets start flying, well, I got plenty of bullets."
Wilson's response to this caller was truly remarkable, as he declared that "those were the kind of sentiments" that were expressed by the Founding Fathers leading up to the Revolutionary War, saying that Americans "are not now willing to revert back to anarchy [and] to have our liberties stripped away from us" before blaming school shootings like Sandy Hook on lack of prayer and the Ten Commandments in our schools:

(11,304 posts)that they are encouraging violence. Shame on this man and the preacher who should of said it isn't right to talk that way. The right wing is praying and hoping someone kills this president. People in the streets will be crying and the republicans in congress will sit and say nothing. How sad this country is being torn by the right wing radio and Fox News. The left can be nasty but I don't hear or see anyone on the left encouraging people to hate republicans that we would want them dead. I pray things get better.

(7,875 posts)He seems to think 'anarchy' = 'despotism'. I guess I shouldn't be so surprised, since right wingers think 'fascism' = 'communism'.
Anarchy is what right wingers want: No gevernment. No rules. Don't like the way someone thinks? Kill 'em.
You want anarchy? Keeps flooding the streets with guns while reducing regulation and I'll show you anarchy.

(19,326 posts)equating "anarchy" with "stripping away our freedoms and liberties" is
the height of ignorance, and does violence to the very notion of language
and meaningful human communication.

(23,973 posts)They are just shy of declaring themselves being in open revolt to the duly-elected representatives of the Federal Government.
Ant religious sect that has members advocating for the violent overthrow of the Constitutionally elected government should be placed on a domestic terrorism watch list.
This has nothing to do with freedom of speech, or freedom of religion. It has everything to do with advocating for open revolt.

(493 posts)That is not so,anyone can pray in any school, they are free to do so. However prayer didn't help all those children that were molested inside the churches.

OTOH, D. James Kennedy has been spouting his revisionist history for thirty years in Florida.

He promoted Francis Schaeffer's and his book, The Christian Manifesto which was used by the right to influence churches and GOP officials:
A number of Christian leaders, authors, and evangelists credit Schaeffer's ideas with helping spark the rise of the Christian Right in the United States and were strongly influenced by him. Among them are Operation Rescue founder Randall Terry, Focus on the Family's James Dobson, the 700 Club's Pat Robertson, Prison Fellowship's Charles Colson, columnist Cal Thomas, preacher and author Tim LaHaye, former Florida Secretary of State Katherine Harris, and Liberty University and Moral Majority founder Jerry Falwell.[2]

This is the basis of the zealotry on the right. Yup, it's all God's Will that they steal elections, persecute the poor, the pregnant, women, gays and all of that.

(975 posts)Many civilian .223's are not 5.56 NATO unless the barrel says 5.56. If they fire NATO ammo through their weapon there will probably be less of these morons around.......at least seeing morons. The differences are minute and have to due with the brass, chamber pressure and leade.
Bushmaster website is vague on this issue but it is a concern for re-loaders, and Bushmaster is now saying that their rifles can handle any 5.56 ammo, not sure that is true. I personally don't own a .223 so I have not done the research on the ballistics and variables but I do remember reading that it could be hazardous for the shooter to assume one is the same as the other. Any re-loaders of .223 here could probably tell you the differences.
