Only in America.

Attention, gun shoppers, regulatory slowdown ahead. Don't worry, it won't kill you. Really, it won't.

First he says "its only a piece of metal and plastic" then he admits its "scary".

When I took my NRA gun safety classes (back when the NRA care about marksmanship and safety and wasn't a repuke lobbying organization) we were taught that guns were powerful, dangerous tools to be respected.

So which is it? just some pieces of metal and plastic or are they tools?

What a sad scared man.

Why not nuclear weapons? They are after all, classified as arms. I need it to defend myself from assault rifles.

a ban on assault weapons try to dodge the issue because some people use the wrong terminology when describing these weapons. It's like the misidentification negates the argument.

or at least I'm hesitant to, because that's a VERY common derailing tactic used by opponents of AWBs.

Pretty sure every human being alive that's ever seen anyone discuss guns has heard the "It's not a CLIP, it's a MAGAZINE!" one. Like using a word that's the common usage that even gun people frequently use because it's so common is a terrible sin.

every time I hear that point made, it becomes even clearer that the pro-gun people simply have no argument.

What astounds me is that the side that has no argument has managed to completely dominate our government.

Yet they accuse others with such arrogance of not knowing what they are talking about! It reminds me of almost every other important issue we face in the nation today the Right is always living in some alternative universe where what ever they want to be true is true?!?!

For instance, the AR-15 is still an "Assault Weapon" with nearly the same killing power as its military brother the M-16 has...The only difference is the fact the M-16 is fully automatic. The gun is far more accurate shot in semi-automatic mode anyway. These are simply word games these GUN NUTS like to play...Or have been taught by the NRA how to play. Plus, this GUN NUT thinks he will be in a running gun battle on a street somewhere & when that day happens he will conveniently have his handy AR-15 with the 100 round Drum of ammo & will shoot the bad guys & be declared the HERO that saved the day! LOL! They really do have a John Wayne complex or something!!

Oh yeah, the best home defense weapon is a shotgun with bird shot not a .223 that could kill your neighbors if you start "firing 100 shots in 100 seconds" to defend yourself!!

But trying to explain "facts" to a true GUN NUT is useless...Might as well sit back & laugh at their utter stupidity.

Now we understand the rationale for risking public safety and allowing easy access to "weapons of mass murder".

Really, what nut (certainly not Adam Lanza's mother) wants a show up to an assault weapon fight armed only with a Glock?
