To the contrary, if you listen to the language carefully, the President is going to try to exchange tax cuts for cuts to Social Security and Medicare. He certainly didn't reassure us to the contrary.

The President talks about a balanced approach. But do you consider asking millionaires and billionaires to forgo buying a third, fourth, fifth or sixth home or maybe another yacht, a sacrifice equal to asking seniors and people close to or under the poverty line to give up necessities like food, shelter and medical care? What can I say.

I figured long ago that once they had picked at the paychecks of teachers, they would go for the paychecks of doctors.

Doctors have never protested in support of the paychecks of other groups. Let's see what happens when they start attacking the medical profession. I hope this will end their little crow fest.

This is the fall of the American empire. Read history. It always works this way. First they take money from the people to support a huge military that expands the empire. Then they take more and more and there is a huge internal battle over who has to pay for the exaggerated costs of the military. Finally, the state goes bankrupt. The last thing it gives up is its military.

People suffer for a while and not just the poor in many cases. Then the whole charade starts again.

We don't need empires. We don't need to be starved out by our military.

Pay the pensions for the military but cut the rest of the military budget. Don't cut Social Security or Medicare or Food Stamps or money spent on the environment, etc.

You NEVER hear ANYthing about cutting military spending, save for the carping the Dems did about the Thugs wanting to spend more than what the Pentagon wants. THAT's probably bullshit to give the appearance of reigning in military bloat. JUST appearance - not substance.
