I've been tending bar at the same place for seven years now. If I don't come in because I'm sick, I don't get paid. we used to make around $8 per hour on top of tips, but since 2009 we all make $2.63

...you need to start somewhere in the fight to change things. Why not with the Red Lobster group?

Edited to add: especially as sick servers of food affect the customers as much as the servers. I don't think any restaurant should be allowed to stay open if it doesn't give sick days off so servers don't have to serve sick? What's the use of all the other health regulations if this is allowed?

... maybe that's why I don't get the flu that much...I don't eat out very often. Also, since kids are grown, they no longer bring germs home from the germ factory: school.
And then there's the flu shot I take every year.

It's not simply Red Lobster of course. This is the life enjoyed by about a hundred million Americans. The other part, left unmentioned, is that this woman has no healthcare or other benefits. Her hope, assuming she hadn't given up on our party altogether, is that this time President Obama will fight for her and she might finally have someone representing her in Washington.

So far that hasn't happened, but if we all come together and start making some noise maybe things will change.

(I call it dead lob now).

And I had health insurance, vacation time and life insurance and a flexible (college student) schedule. But that was back in the 80s. I loved working there despite making 5 bucks an hour working in the kitchen and 2.01 plus tips on the floor as a waitress. I averaged about 10 bucks and hour when I waited tables.
What happened to my favorite restaurant!!!????

(I know exactly what happened. Walmart happened and they are the ones I blame for the ways things are for workers).
Evil corporations looking at the bottom line only; fuck the employees.

Leviticus 11:10
10 And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you.

The Red Lobster is one of the most difficult issues we face, because God says it is an abomination, just like teh gay!
