Thom Hartmann vs Sheriff Joe Arpaio: Do We Really Want Fire Fights in Our Schools?

Thom speaks with Maricopa County, Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio about his armed posse gaurding Arizona schools.

(Wow, Thom's been getting a star studded guest list lately: so far this month he's interviewed Arpaio and Alex Jones, and on Monday he'll have Gen. Stanley McChrystal!)

Arpaio previously went on Thom's show on 7/28/10 debating SB 1070.

has to be one of the most moronic ideas in the history of this country.

If the worst happens and a lunatic starts shooting children, how many more children are going to be taken out by the wannabe Rambos? Then, when the real cops show up, will they know instinctively, ‘Oh, that’s a good guy shooting children, not a bad guy shooting children… we’ll keep looking?’

If that happens, Joe Arpaio should be criminally responsible for every child shot by his posse. He was warned numerous times, and by law, if a reasonable person should have known the outcome – and an eight year old could figure this one out – that person is culpable.

On edit: If they used a 50 caliber, a bullet could easily go through the outside wall of the school, two, three or four classrooms and a few children. Fanatics are incapable in critical thought. At least where their particular fanatical ideals are concerned.
