(33 posts)than I would have afforded him. He's trying to back her into a corner if incrimination and she's just not having it. Considering all she has been through in the past four years - he's just lint on her shoulder to be brushed off.

(1,188 posts)more like something on her shoe to be scraped off, but your comment is dead on. I especially appreciate your pointing out the garbage she has had to go through. Surely the most impressive secretary of state in my memory--and I'm getting on up there in years. Remember Condi? Night and day!!!

(65,457 posts)public by trying to invent a scandal out of thin air and bullying a Secretary of State who is so obviously doing a great job! This bullying looks even worse following the disgusting RW comments about her concussion and blood clot.
Of course, it plays well with the lunatic fringe on the far right, so since that's what his purpose is, he might not care that he looks so obnoxious and stupid to more decent and rational human beings.

(6,045 posts)I have been waiting for someone to say what has needed to be said from the start..."WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE" that it was called a protest for a couple of weeks vs a terrorist attack? These Republicans try to make everything out to be a secret Muslim plot by Obama to destroy America!

(12,882 posts)If this had happened under a GOP president, this asshat would be less forthright about it than ALL of the involved Obama administration has been. Johnson here - he couldn't care LESS about those who died - only whether or not their blood can be splashed onto administration members like indelible ink!

Not that all lives lost aren't tragedies
but 4 people dead from a surprise ambush vs thousands of troops and hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians based on a pre-planned war based on lies? Which one is the GOP outraged about?

(12,882 posts)that was my point - without spelling it out, letter for letter.

(32,723 posts)Here is their version of events.
Obama kills Osama bin Laden and struts all over Washington claiming he won the "War On Terror" then tried to pin the Benghazi attack on a protest against a film done by a right wing preacher and didn't want to call the attack "terrorism" because that would mean the "War On Terror" was still going on after all.
Don't laugh,...this is how they actually remember it.

(1,083 posts)This has been the Republican MO anytime there is a Democratic President. But, you know what? People are tuning in to watch this to see how f'n great Hillary Clinton is. I get the feeling that a very small amount of Republican citizens even care about this. I do know a rabid Limbaugh fan who is following Rand Paul's nonsensical talking points. My personal opinion is this is going to blow up in the face of these Senate and Congressional Republicans and turn into a love fest for Hillary.
The twits don't even realize they are way over on the losing side of this "supposed" scandal. I also don't remember President Obama ever stating that there were no more terrorists anywhere. Maybe I'm wrong, but like Hillary said, what difference does it make that someone came out five days later and had the wrong or incomplete info on the attack. If they had said it was terrorism within two days or three, it would still be four very good people dead. I don't know what the administration was supposed to gain by trying to address the situation by saying they still thought it was the protesters. I can wonder why they did seem to want those five talk shows to think it was the protesters. Why couldn't Susan Rice simply tell them they were still working on what happened and wanted to get it right before they told the public. Someone messed up there and I have no idea who or why they did that. It was certainly one of those times that the truth would have been the best way to go. And by truth, I mean the fact that they might have had security reasons for not telling the five talk show hosts that they were still gathering information.
I saw Susan Rice on at least two of those shows and she had obviously been told to definitely say it was perpetrated by the protesters. I guess if I was a Republican and had absolutely nothing going my way, I would try and make the biggest stink out of it as I could. That's what they are doing and Hillary is squashing them.
The House Republicans get to go after her in a few minutes. Time to check that out.

(8,821 posts)Why would the evacuees necessarily know for sure what had led up to the attack? Their personal impressions could easily have misled the State Department even worse on that question.
