Paul Ryan is a grown up teenager who became enthralled with Atlas Shrugged and its simplistic view of the world and human nature. Ayn Rand taught that laissez-faire capitalism is the only moral economic system, yet she failed to understand the most important thing about it: It doesn't work. We learned that in 1929, but Ms. Rand and her followers, including Mr. Ryan, couldn't accept the lessons of history, so we had to learn it all over again in 2008. And fools like Mr. Ryan still won't learn.

What kind of morality is it that has us all marching like lemmings to the sea in order to preserve an idea that is nothing more than a justification of greed and selfishness based on a poor reading of Aristotle's Organon?
