Maher Likens Defense Spending To Declining Manhood: When Did We Become ‘Dickless Armchair Warriors’?

VIDEO here: http://www.mediaite.com/tv/maher-likens-defense-spending-to-declining-manhood-when-did-we-become-dickless-armchair-warriors/

Bill Maher closed out his show by declaring that America needs to stop saying it’s the home of the brave and start acting like it. He cited the nation’s huge defense budget and compared the United States to a paranoid crazy man who keeps spending money on alarms and guns and cameras but doesn’t have enough left over to take care of his house or send his kids to college. Maher asked, “would you call him brave?” before comparing the nation’ emphasis on defense to American manhood. -snip-

I think we should cut the MIC down to less than 25% of what it is today. It would be a great start to show the world we aren't hate mongering imperialists.

The problem is much bigger than "masculinity".

Corporate power has run amok. We now have "war for profit" as Eisenhower warned us against. The privatization of our military (government) into the hands of wealthy elitists and their overwhelming influence of legislation and contracts is damaging this country. Sure, they create some jobs but the concentration of our tax dollars, into the hands of the few, is what drives these jackals and harms us all.

I think Bill makes a decent point however he misses the bigger picture of just who is pulling the strings and how much influence they have in all manner of media and control of our legislators.
