1. Another example of

Rich American capitalists coming into an Asian country and screwing the worker so they can make a profit, (Just as they do here at home.) I hope these 200 people can find help and new work. If there were a place to donate, I would send money. Our country did this, we should be the ones to fix this.

2. K&R. Wish more Americans cared about the miserable working conditions of those to whom

our garment industry was outsourced.

We were supposed to believe that foreign workers would get the same factory jobs US workers had, with some basic standards that unions had won for most US workers like the 8 hr day, a lunch break and two short breaks, sick leave and a little vacation, and they would just do those jobs for less money so that's why those jobs were leaving us. Others around the globe needed a chance to live a better life.

It has been so disheartening that the multinational corporations weren't satisfied with those profits but had to impose more and more savage working conditions to squeeze out a few more dollars.

3. What we've seen....

here in the USA - what with the fucking phony "free trade agreements" and the god damned Right-to-work [for less] pushes - this is setting up Americans to accept treatment like these asian gals are getting. With unions getting marginalized (Remember Obama's "comfortable shoes" pledge?) the workforce here is primed to be thrilled to work for offshore wages. And when Walmart and other stal-Warts of American enterprize bring those jobs BACK to home turf - they'll paint themselves as SAINTS for "doing the Right thing".
Of course, the chronically unemployed will SWOON at the chance to have a job - even if the terms fuck with any chance of having a decent job and a home of thier own. This administration has CLEARLY demonstrated that they're a wholly owned puppet of the corporatocracy we're now ruled by.

ASK those union members in Wisconsin just when it was they saw Obama (or anyone of note from DC) walking around Madison with a picket sign! ASK the folks at Sensata, that had to TRAIN their Chinese counterparts, where anyone from Obama OR Romney's operations were just days before the elections! ASK the new UAW workers how they feel about making half of what their older brothers get - a condition of their industry being bailed back from the brink.

As heart-wrenching as it is....... Walmart's not even gonna acknowledge these gals' plight. They're inconsequential detritus that empowers all those smiley faces to promise low prices - always.

4. It is sad that the Democratic party didn't stick with the unions all the way.

Passing NAFTA was a horrible mistake.

Pretending that globalization was a benevolent force that would improve living standards around the world, rather than a profit center for the top two percent, was really a betrayal of the middle class our party had worked so hard to build.

Pretending that Trickle Down Supply Side economics made any sense when we knew from our experience that Demand Side worked best.

So sad that here we are now letting unions be crushed even further. Even after Supply Side crashed our economy through massive fraud in 2007-8.

6. Big Dog started a lot of the banking deregulation that allowed anybody to declare themselves a bank

and make the crap loans that drove real estate prices soaring along with the crap loan sums themselves.

Why do you think there have been several attempts to get rid of child labor laws in this country? The only issue we should care about, and the one that would draw these forces out of the shadows, would be strong support for COMPLETE CAMPAIGN FINANCE REFORORM ( CCFR)!
