3. There was a club called the Sugar Shack close to the Ohio State University

when I was growing up. The Bee Gees played there a lot when they were up and coming.

and even gave the shack a mention in the lyrics. That's high praise for how strong the song was!

I believe I first heard the song on my slick AM transistor radio.
