Data transfer cable will not install and it is the third brand new one we've tried.

of the cable. I was gonna use a screwdriver to really mess things up but my better half said, "wait one f....ing minute". So, the rough est is 107.00 plus shipping, handling, fondling, licking, putting a stamp on it and giving it to them to increase that estimate.

I'm kinda lost here.

7. Why use the cable when you can insert the cheap-o card reader into a USB port on the PC?

That's how it's done. Cables are kinda passe and you now have this problem.
Please don't spend $$ on fixing the cable port.
