to replace the data input port in a Nikon Coolpix .
Data transfer cable will not install and it is the third brand new one we've tried.

(16,172 posts)of the cable. I was gonna use a screwdriver to really mess things up but my better half said, "wait one f....ing minute". So, the rough est is 107.00 plus shipping, handling, fondling, licking, putting a stamp on it and giving it to them to increase that estimate.
I'm kinda lost here.

(18,649 posts)That's how it's done. Cables are kinda passe and you now have this problem.
Please don't spend $$ on fixing the cable port.
Check your PC and see what kind of cards it accepts and if the camera's card doesn't fit in the PC, get a universal card reader, like this: https://www.amazon.com/UGREEN-Reader-Memory-Windows-Simultaneously/dp/B01EFPX9XA/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?ie=UTF8&qid=1510099189&sr=8-1-spons&keywords=universal+card+reader&psc=1
