I listen to Birth of an Accidental Hipster at least once every two weeks. That song indisputably kicks ass.

(5,914 posts)One of the things that most amazed me about this album is how wonderful their voices still sound. Micky and Mike sound the same as they did in the late 60s, and Peter even sounds better. I know they had a lot of technical help with this, but there's none of that obviously autotuned bullshit on this album. They all still genuinely sound great.
The other pieces of the formula are that they chose songwriters and producers that they worked with in the past or who are fans (Neil Diamond, Boyce and Hart; Andy Partridge of XTC). It's amazing what you can produce when you can put genuine love into the equation.
