Most dissapointing Christmas gifts.

Well, the holiday is over and just wondering if anyone has received a truly dreadful or disappointing Christmas gift. Not that the holiday should be all about gifts, but some gifts are just better left un-given.

Like the year I received a box of "Nips" candy. And the candy was old. It's hard to unwrap a gift like that, and maintain a proper facial expression.

I think he figured that any gift was better than none.

It's also a little funny too, but I feel bad for you if you got him a nice gift in exchange.

I gave her some for her birthday in August including some eco-friendly scrubbers. She re-gifted them to me for Christmas . Don't know if she forgot or it was a joke. Not sure if I should say anything.

Every year for the holidays, my primary client sends me an order of steaks from Allen Brothers. They arrive in a large styrofoam box encased in dry ice. They're incredible cuts of beef and we alway enjoy them.

Our business this year was exceptionally good. Additionally, I did a number of personal services for the client that he was greatly appreciative for. Just before the holidays, I received three large boxes of meat! A treasure trove and the goodies should last a couple of months. I sent my client an effusive thank you note.

But there was a problem. He only sent me one of the boxes! It took more than a week for me to discover who sent me the other two boxes! It all came to light when we were visiting my sister and brother-in-law and he asked how we liked the box of steaks! Very embarrassing.

Oops.

But my family has a history of buying something for themselves, wrapping it up, and putting my name on it.

My worst Christmas gift was a book about kitchen renovations and design. I was 7.

I'm so sorry. I hope you don't go all out for them. I always feel like I go overboard for my family and they get me bargain basement things w/ no gift receipt in return. Of course they give me a decent sized check as well, but the actual gifts are thoughtless and basically useless. What makes it worse is that they get my sister and her family high-priced, name brand gifts (my dad remarried after my mother died and they had two children so my sister is her natural daughter and I am a step-daughter. They do the same thing w/ my brothers, although they weren't with us this Christmas). It just makes me feel like they don't care. Like I'm someone they HAVE to buy gifts for instead of someone they want to buy gifts for.

a coffee jug that you put in the refrigerator for "iced" coffee.

I was at walgreens just days before and saw this thing in the bargain basement for 6.99. UGH. I wish he wouldn't have given me anything at all. There was no thought just a cheap "oh shit gotta grab something for the party" gift.

I gave him a 100.00 gift card to Flemings Steak House.

I almost think it is less hurtful to get no gift at all than to get one that clearly tells you that the person buying it didn't give a damn about pleasing you. Believe me, I know all about that. I hope that somehow you are rewarded in other ways. That was a horrible gift, especially since you went out of your way to get him something nice and useful.
