should du have a singles forum?

i remember back in the day several couples who started out here in the lounge, and got married.
it's a different time now, and trolls would prolly be thick. it seemed like a perfect way to find the right person, tho.

i am trying to do dating in my 60's, and it seems insurmountable. not interested in anyone who isnt a dyed in the wool liberal.
not real interested in online dating forums. i at least think that here just sticking your head up would not result in a deluge of dick pics. i could be wrong, i guess.

anywho. anyone else?

That actually sounds like a 'cautiously' good idea Siwsan Jan 2018 #1

at least you can look over a person's posts, and see if you think they are who they say they are. lots of history to check.

Finding a true kindred spirit, especially later in life, is pretty much one of those gifts beyond measure.

Post it in your state & in the Lounge, asking DUers to bring liberal friends. You'd meet people that way, as well as getting out of the house.

the last couple times i tried it didnt fly. i think we are a little skeptical here in chi, as the last one we had was infiltrated by a troll who went on to harass a member in a big way.

which makes me all the more leery about this idea, but...

Of course there would need to be some serious moderation. I'm tired of being single and would love to find someone. Oh well, just my two cents.

Peace

One, I recall, a had beautiful marriage/relationship followed by domestic violence .

The trouple... a lot of passive-aggressive/cruel attacks on the one left behind.

I think that there have been several more, but they wisely let their personal lives be personal.

Lots of drama back then.

I remember reading that DU once had a singles group... but it must have been before I joined. It got pretty raunchy and they closed it. We used to have a rule about no sex-talk. Don't know if we still do!
