a black tea (Camellia sinensis) originally from the Wuyi region of the Chinese province of Fujian. It is sometimes referred to as smoked tea (熏茶 .[1] Lapsang is distinct from all other types of tea because lapsang leaves are traditionally smoke-dried over pinewood fires, taking on a distinctive smoky flavour.

Couldn't get any further than that, which is unusual for me. It was an inherent revulsion. I guess I'll stick to my other black teas, like darjeeling.

Who gave me some and I loved it. Its my understanding it is dried over fires of green pine.

I also tend to be a man of extremes.

the box was beautiful and enticing.

It's funny that people not only have very different tastes, but that they can be at such extremes. I'm capable of eating or drinking almost anything in the food category, but this felt like a biological reaction, like my genes were telling me, "not for you!"

try Russian Caravan tea. It has lapsang souchang but is blended with oolong and keemun to make a less smokey tea. Cream and sugar will also tame it.
