Carole King
1971
Several DUers mentioned this album lately, so it got me in the mood to hear it once again I practically played the grooves off the vinyl back in the day, I listened to this intimate set of perfection by a brilliant songwriter so many times.
"I Feel The Earth Move," "It's Too Late," "So Far Away","Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow," and "You Make Me Feel Like A Natural Woman" .........
aaaahhhhh..... I feel like I'm back in high school and sitting on my bed in my room, reading the album notes, while this plays on the turntable over and over and over .....

(33,643 posts)I know every word to every song on side 1 for sure, and a few on side 2, like Smackwater Jack which I LOVED when I was like 8 yo, with no idea what it referred to.
Definitely of my all-time faves and universally regarded as a stone cold classic.
For one of your other upcoming nights, allow me to recommend ... another HUGE fave from my childhood ...
Elton John - Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy
Fave tracks:
Title Track, Tell Me When The Whistle Blows, Someone Saved My Life Tonight, and the We All Fall in Love Sometimes/Curtains closing medley ... but in something of a rarity for EJ, it's truly a start to finish brilliant album. His best along with Yellow Brick Road, imho ... even though that has a few duff tracks overall there's plenty enough greatness there.

(2,050 posts)My older sister is a big Elton fan, went to all his concerts in Seattle.
Boas, big glasses, huge platform shoes n all
It was pretty hard not to hear his albums continuously in our house.
I have two copy's with all the goodies still inside ( Capt Fantastic )

(2,050 posts)Here tonight it's Alan Parsons Project "Tales of Mystery and Imagination" Original Master Recording by MOFI.
But I'll dig that one out later.
Thanks for the recommendation, sometimes it's nice to not have to dig one out.

(2,050 posts)I even have "the complete guide to the Alan Parsons Project" on Arista records.
A rare DJ set of everything from I Robot to Eye in the sky with two albums of interviews.
Tales was on Mercury.
From "The Time Machine" on is vhtf on vinyl, I'm still looking.
I'll keep checking back to see what you're playing, my first album was Inna Godda Da Vida before it went gold.
I've been collecting ever since.
Vinyl never died at my house.
Enjoy
