Barack and Michelle Obamas portraits unveiled. Different I would say but not really my taste.

Art is definitely in the eye of the beholder. While I really don’t care for Michelle’s portrait, I would like to know what message the Artist was trying to convey. That is my personal opinion, and I am no one to criticize the artist. It looks washed out. Barack’s a little better but kind of strange with flowers. Just looking for the artists interpretation and message their art conveyed. I do know that it was so nice to see Barack and Michelle who are the definition of class and dign

I would have gone for a few fewer floral flourishes in President Obama's portrait but I love the non-traditional takes displayed by both. It will generate conversation - hopefully respectful conversation - and that's what art is supposed to do.

It's like Michelle is vanishing and she's going to totally disappear. Michelle’s portrait looks flat, faded and washed out, like a beginning watercolor sketch, something the artist has just started and hasn't yet finished.

you got a little worked up, dintcha?

Oh, and edit to add, in case anyone was thinking of following the image failed links above, it's just a monkey taking a shit (or maybe a cow? hard to tell - focus is kinda zoomed in on the shit) and The Dude calling me an asshole. But that just, like, his opinion man.

I found DU quite by accident during a break from preparing for a trial where I was representing a person pro bono for a crime I know he didn’t commit. My client couldn’t afford a private attorney and the State was looking to railroad him. During a break in preparation, I found DU and thought much of the content reflected my personal political POV. As a busy trial attorney and Father of 4 I don’t have time for a lot of blogging and such. After about a year of reading others comments on DU, I decided to join. My black lab Pepsi was sitting there thus the handle Pepsidog was born. The majority of people on DU are really decent people but there are always a smart ass who has a sarcastic remark and offers nothing to the discussion. For you to take the time to reply with your lame pic calling my thread useless is a prime example of being an idiot. I have read many threads that don’t have links and when that happens if I’m interested I use something called “google”. That is GOOGLE or BING if that is easier. As the original geek, I would think you would have done the same and maybe provided a link yourself. Oh and your avatar which looks like the Dallas Cowboy logo. If it is now I understand your “pain”. As a lifelong Eagles fan we will be owning your ass for years to come. In conclusion, I think it was a cow shitting, not a monkey but then again I maybe wrong.

I just thought it was funny that a thread about pictures had no pictures. Not everything is an attack.

The eyes aren't quite right. I like Barack's portrait better. Dolt 45 will be jealous of his large hands.

Barack’s portrait looks better on my computer screen. Michelle’s is washed out. I wonder why the artist portrayed her that way.

I actually thought it was a joke post when I saw it on the homepage, especially for President Obama.
