Not having good times at my place (UPDATE)

Last edited Tue Feb 13, 2018, 09:33 PM - Edit history (1)

Thank all of you for your kind words about the stomach bug and my poor kitty.

So, granddaughter came down with it. Her husband had to work (feels better) and she came over with 3-week old baby so she could get some rest. I still don't have the bug!

And, as if this isn't enough, the damned furnace has died! 46 degrees outside, 59 inside. Fortunately, we have some space heaters and have been getting by with those. Repair person to come tomorrow. Furnace is old, possibility of repair doubtful. Not what I want to deal with right now. Thanks for you DU'rs letting me vent.
-----------------------------
My daughter and her husband live with me. On Saturday, his sister and her 11-month old baby came to visit. Baby threw up several times the first day. Second day, daughter, SIL, sister, baby and my granddaughter, her husband, 3-week old baby all went out to dinner. I decided not to go. After dinner, the granddau husband started throwing up. Today, daughter and SIL sister have been throwing up. SIL is at work but not feeling well. Me? I'm ok for now. I'm at the opposite end of the house from where all the action is but it's a small house and I'm pretty sure that I have been thoroughly exposed from several sources. Washing my hands and using sanitizer, hoping for the best. The only good news is that the first two to get it are already over it. Seems to last 24 hours.

So, as if there wasn't enough stuff going on, my poor kitty (described in a post at DU Pets) who has lymphoma, seems to be signaling it is time for her last trip to the vet. Two days ago, she fought getting the pills and eye drop, yesterday she stopped eating but she is still drinking water. Her breathing seems blocked (she has a large tumor in her sinus). I'm in tears every time I think of what I need to do. She's been such a lovely pet and I hate to lose her, but I don't want her to suffer.

I'm a mom of 3 and I can't decide which is worse - the firehose that babies are when they are sick, or teenagers. I can manage the other ages just fine.

Strong thoughts are heading your way. If others are being cared for, I'd stay clear of them and concentrate on kitty. Poor thing. Cyber hugs.

Hope all are well now. Feel so bad for your precious kitty. Hope in her last days you can spend some quiet loving time together. Peace to you both.
