Hero Dog - shot and bloodied to save owner

Heartwarming story. Bad guys broke into home in Iowa, boy hid in closet with family dog and called police. When the burglars came into the boy's room, the dog attacked them. Fight ensued and they shot the dog and then fled .
Dog is recuperating at vet's
