I hate that I swear so much.

I sincerely do.

It makes me happy when I see articles stating that people who swear are generally intelligent. I use those articles to counter the people who tell me that swearing is the sign of a limited vocabulary.

When I try not to swear, I can't express myself as effectively as I would like. I enjoy using curse words to accentuate a point to really drive it home, and to make it memorable. You motherfuckers know what I mean?

Under certain circumstances, urgent circumstances, desperate circumstances, profanity provides a relief denied even to prayer.

Yeah, I swear, too, when the occasion warrants.

EVERY time I see 45's image, I curse out loud, unless in company, then it hangs: "That....uhhh."
I curse at the TV. I curse at bumperstickers. I curse at any R political signage.

Swearing is the salt, pepper and seasoning to emphasize a position or to get your point accrossed. No regrets or apologies here!

It is a very effective way to express yourself and keep your sanity. Everyone knows that swearing is the most effective way to keep from blowing an apoplectic gasket in your brain.

Colorful and mindful swearing can be like stringing pearls into a beautiful necklace. Gems!

Further, it does not make a point or a case more convincing. Just the opposite. It closes minds and ears. People stop listening. This is not 1950 (thank goodness) so there is not so much shock value, but the ugliness remains. A little salt is one thing but the way it is used so frequently in conversation and even online is just blunt force.

Without going back, self-control leads to more effective expressive arguments. A scalpel is more effective at changing minds than a bludgeon. That is intelligence.

It gets to a point it isn't even noticeable anymore. It's become common place in conversations with her. So it doesn't really add anything to any point she may be making. She's a pretty intelligent, enjoyable, funny individual. Doesn't really need to use cuss words, but she does.

...sentence (centence) and dissatisfaction (disatisfaction). I have wondered if it was deliberate.

The very dry and pedantic voice of the narrator, and the flickering look of the piece remind me of the filmstrips we used to see in elementary school back in the late 1950s and early 1960s.

Oh, God, those film strips: "An Encyclopaedia Britannica Film," as the image and voice shuddered and shimmied, and the emulsion scratches made it barely readable. Then the thing would jam in the gate, and the projector bulb would burn right through the film. Good times!
