he passed away in 1972 at the age of 38 yrs.old...heart attack.


I always watch Star Trek and I get that special affects have gotten more clever.

But nothing distracts me from watching the reruns. They are amazing and thoughtful.

The show's low budget forced the writers away from special effects and toward human relationships and ideas. For those of us too young to remember when the show was new (which is most of us) it's not possible to appreciate how revolutionary the show was.

His son,Stefan Andrew Ihnat also passed away of a heart attack in 2004 at the age of 32

I wonder if he just aged faster than most of us. I wondered the same about John Thaw, who looked 50 when he was only 35.

ETA: And he would have been only 32 or so at the time of the picture.
