that started off near San Francisco, worked it's way through about 3 stops across the country to get to Springfield MA nice and close to my home in central CT. It stayed in Springfield for almost 2 days before going to North Carolina, then Memphis, Chicago and finally back to Springfield.

I didn't need it badly so I kind of enjoyed giving it a tour of the country I've never been able to do.

Kidding aside, what I think is happening is that vendors are using joint UPS/USPS or FedEx/USPS services. These shipments are the equivalent of the proverbial slow boat to China. They are at the bottom of the shipping food chain. No urgency. No delivery date commitment. If it waits a few days for the next truck, so be it. If it sits overnight somewhere before delivery to the delivery post office, that's fine. And if it's delivered to the post office after the day's mail is sorted, that's fine, too.

I waited more than two weeks for a warranty replacement from Warby Parker. The replacement was sent out within a couple of days of my request for the replacement. It then sat at some local carrier service for a while, then took the equivalent of your Redmond - Keasbey itinerary, and then sat in my area for a few days before delivery to the post office. Sent via First Class Mail, it would have cost under $4, and probably less with negotiations with the post office. So they couldn't have saved a lot per shipment. Yes, I get it. Multiply that by however many packages that are shipped, and at some point you're talking about real money. But, this is six months later, and I'm still pissed at Warby Parker for doing this. So if a certain percentage of customers choose not to use this company for future purchases, then there go the savings.
