1. Crocuses blooming the snow are quite lovely.

They are very hardy and will bloom when they should.

3. Actually, crocuses like a little snow. Chilling forces the bulb to sprout.

Prolonged snow might require you to cover them, though.

5. I've fucking 4" of the stuff in my driveway.

Too much to drive into town on all the unpaved and paved two lanes, 15 miles each way, with snow blowing around like hell.

So I went to the nearby (6 miles each way) country store. (They have just about anything one wants, as long as it's simple. They have food and simple repair things. In season they have hunting/fishing supplies, and ice cream, included malted milk shakes, hand scooped the old way.

We've got more of the stuff coming here, apparently from an Alberta clipper. The wind was whiting out the road on the way this afternoon. The sun is out now, but forecast says more snow coming.
