OK, this tears it . . . I'm going out tomorrow and buying a digital camera.

My new kitteh Ruby just took the most hilarious pratfall: She jumped from the couch to the coffee table, slid from one side to the other. She hit the floor, picked herself up, shook her head, and stalked off as of to say, "I meant to do that!"

Digital is the way to go...no more wondering how much film to carry along, or wondering where you'll have a moment to change rolls...

The freedom is amazing!

Plus, you get to see your pictures immediately.

I hope you'll have many pictures of your ketteh Ruby to share with us!

Most embarrased animal on Earth, a cat that does something really klutzy.

And they all give you the "I meant to do that!" look.

and to tell the truth, I prefer the 35mm. I don't take a lot of pictures, but when I do, it's outside. With the 35, I can look through the view finder, frame the picture, and I can SEE the view. The digital (which I call point-and-hope) does not have a view finder and when I want to take a picture, I can't see what I'm pointing at on the screen because the sunlight blocks it. I've looked around for a small digital that has a view finder, but they don't make them. I haven't looked at the large digitals because they are out of my price range. So, as long as I can get the film, I'm going to stick with the 35. There are issues with that, of course, but I do scrapbooking and I prefer to have printed pictures I can work with.

The ways it isn't though are why I love it. I can hold down the shutter button and it will take 4 pics/sec until the card fills up and the card holds over a thousand pictures at a resulution that allows printing at poster size.

The body, 18-55mm lens, two batteries, and 4gb CF card cost $599 with a case and tripod.
