Sucks to not be able to help someone. Sound-off thread.

You know you're in a good ole boy community when neighbors don't step up to help a minority-owned landscaper who had his blowers stolen off his truck. Some did, and I appreciate that.

I did the best I could with security cam photos, but I don't think everyone did what they could and that's what really annoys me. There are just some things that can determine who you are as a person, or a community. Theft is wrong. period. If you have to rationalize it, maybe there are factors involved about your own character that aren't so becoming.

And, while I'm on the subject, trespassing across your neighbor's property in the early morning hours, not so smart.

You have to wonder what is going on in people's minds when they make such unsound decisions. I don't know if they do it to mark territory, or an intimidation tactic, but I would certainly appreciate it if it would stop.

unwilling to help but quick to point fingers. Happens all the time in my once friendly neighborhood. It's sad.

Why are people trespassing?

I would rather that option, than the possibility that there's good ole boying going on. No community wants to deal with that broad brush. But, it's easy for a community to get a rep.

As far as the trespassing, not a clue why someone thinks they have the entitlement to walk up someone's driveway in the early morning. I know what would happen to me if I tried anything like that at any time of the day or night. You can almost understand why they would cut across the edge of the property, but that's before they put up bushes to block their own passage. But these aren't huge lots. No reason why they can't take the five steps it takes to reach their own property. I can only assume that their trespassing is an attempt to intentionally harass. Their dog has barked loud enough to wake us up, and, of course, leaving his early morning remains was clearly caught on video. It's not the dog's fault.

We are not dealing with children. We are dealing with people in professional jobs that should know better.

A whole lotta people suck in this world. I'm sorry. Being stolen from is bad enough. The good ole boy thing sucks even worse.
