Ugh.

The plaid shorts ain't doin' much for me either.

Geez, even when i was a high school basketball player, i pushed my socks all the way down so i'd look like Pete Maravich. I didn't even want knee socks with shorts even as a uniform!

And, who wears dress shoes with shorts?

Hit any link at random. For examples:

Full disclosure: I bought a yellow and burnt orange shag carpet at Sears in 1976 for my bedroom. It wasn't a good one; I paid only $19.95 for it.

EDIT: That said, I had a bunch of #7, at least one pair of #4084, and I WISH I had a pair of them #4069.

and just as much to maintain it...That is if you can find a stylist who can or will cut this style.

It is like the color periwinkle...looks good on every face shape.

I struggled in the early 70s trying to straighten my wavy/curly hair. Long straight hair, parted down the middle was the style. Even if I managed to get my hair straighter, Houston's humidity would make it kink back up in a few hours. But my hair was perfect for the shag.

My hair was cut into lawyers and a few minutes set with hot rollers
and styling was easy and then off for the day.

I have seen some modern type shag cuts, but they are from super expensive salons.

I put my hair on the ironing board. It didn't work very well.
I had no idea there was a gadget for ironing hair!

When that didn't work, I chemically straightened my hair for a few years.

They now call it a razor cut. I had a shag cut back in the 70's and of all the hairstyles I tried over the years, that's the one I loved the most.

I've been trying to get a shortish razor cut for months now and no one seems to know what I'm talking about. I think you'd have to go to a very upscale expensive salon to find someone who's been taught how to do these properly.

Nothing else works on me. My hair is has just the right amount of waves and cowlicks. If it gets too short, it sticks out. It is gets too long it goes limp. So, it is back to the Farah. Finding someone who will cut it is the challenge.

Trendy clothes, trendy hairstyles; It can be hard for us girls, sometimes, to
find a way to the classics that serve us best.
