Just saw the musical "Come From Away". My friends couldn't understand why I hated it.

I'm sorry. The central reality was the murders of nearly three thousand people. I get it that there were amazing acts of compassion and generosity at that time, but that doesn't make it anywise anything but a vicious crime and a horrible tragedy.

but wasn't the central reality of the story the response of the Gander residents to travelers they housed and fed? Sorry you hated it.

P.S., not directly related, but I 'hated' the musical Book of Mormon.

I hated the show.

The story was lame and predictable.

The music was uninspired.

The performances were self-serving.

The musical "sound" was terrible. (This is a reference to the audio mix that one hears in the theater.)

Go see "Sweeney Todd" at the Barrow Street Theatre, instead.
