Curious cat on van identified

http://www.ketv.com/article/curious-cat-on-van-identified/20890593

OMAHA, Neb. —
It’s great news to the many around the world who have seen video of a cat riding on the roof of a van going 60 miles per hour: The cat has been identified and has no injuries.

The owner, Michelle Criger, told KETV NewsWatch 7 her cat must have hitched a ride for two miles through neighborhood streets, hills and then the interstate before anyone noticed Friday.

Sounds like the two-year-old cat is living up to his name, “Rebel.”

“He takes off, does what he wants,” Criger laughs. “He's a rebel. He does everything he wants to do.

I'm glad that the story has a happy conclusion and that the cat is safe.

In other news, my Siamese has climbed into my lap for massage therapy three times already tonight.

I'm glad this story has a happy ending.

Years ago my sister's cat liked to sleep on the roof of my Mom's car. We had a steep driveway and one day Mom backed out, the cat slipped off, and there was not a happy ending.

Ever since I check the roof of any vehicle before I drive off. In cold weather I pound on the hood in case a cat has climbed into the engine for warmth. Only takes a minute to be safe.
