Car hits girls sunbathing in the street

PITTSBURGH (WTAE ) – Two 13-year-old girls are recovering after they were run over by a car, when they fell asleep sunbathing in the middle of the road in Beaver County, Pa. over the weekend.

Nicole and Nicholas Beck told WTAE their 19-year-old brother was driving down the road and stopped at a stop sign. They said their 13-year-old cousin and her friend were lying in the road, suntanning on the street. The Becks said their brother made a turn and did not see the girl.

“They told us that they fell asleep in the road. And my brother went and turned and hit them,” Nicholas Beck said.

“I was like crying real bad and shaking,” said Nicole Beck.

Ambulances arrived and took the girls to a nearby site where helicopters flew them to the hospital where they are now listed in fair condition.

The Becks said police questioned their brother, but contend this was all just one tragic accident.

They should be questioning the parents asking them why they would let their 13 year old daughters sunbathe in the middle of the road

Future Darwin winners for sure!
